A small studio in Massachusetts
Small, careful apps for families.
JDK Labs makes the apps we wanted for our own kids: calm instead of noisy, honest about what a child actually knows, private by construction, and finished. No ads, no accounts you don't need, no streaks.
Two apps, both on their way to the App Store
Each one started as a problem at our own kitchen table.
KidFacts
Five calm minutes a day on the everyday facts kids are expected to just know: months, days, telling time, coins, states, times tables, and their own address and phone number. Parents see exactly what sticks.
On the App Store soon kidfacts.app →PocketRoo
Chores, jobs and allowance for kids. Children tick things off on their own iPad, with every screen read aloud; parents run it all from their phone. It keeps the score and never touches the money.
On the App Store soon pocketroo.app →How we build
Calm
Short sessions, one thing on screen, animations that settle rather than bounce. Children with ADHD and dyslexia are the design target, not an afterthought.
Honest
Progress means "knows it on their own", not points. Parents get plain sentences they can act on at dinner.
Private
No analytics, no ad networks, no servers of ours holding your family's data. Sync runs through your own iCloud.
Finished
Native Swift on iPhone and iPad, tested on real devices, shipped when it is ready and not before.
Have an app in mind?
We take on a few projects a year alongside our own apps. If you want something built with the same care, say hello. Tell us who it is for and what it has to do; we will reply within two business days.
